Learning to Kiteboard in the Keys

So I figured I would start writing this article about my progression while learning how to kiteboard. So far its been pretty easy thanks to the guys over at Otherside Board Sports in Islamorada Key. I've had lessons with both G and Ed and those guys took me from knowing nothing to being able to control the kite, rig, and ride in just two lessons! I figured today would be a good day to start this since I'm on my way to their new cable park in Marathon. The Key's Cable Park is like the wind tunnel for wakeboarders. This cable system allows you to fine tune your skills without the need for a boat. Pretty cool stuff I think. Anyway, I'll be using it today to fine tune my switch foot while kiteboarding. I can edge pretty well on the normal side, but going switch I always seem to loose my balance. The guys suggested I give the cable park a try and that is what I'm going to do. I'll let you know how it works.

I again want to thank the gang at the oTHErside Boardsports for taking me under their wing and showing me the ropes. They are a really nice mom and pop shop and if you are ever down in this neck of the woods be sure to give them a call.
